” Explanation :-
Verse 1

Jaya Radhe, Jaya Krishna, Jaya Vrindavan.
Sri Govinda, Gopinath, Madana-Mohan.

✨ Explanation:
The kirtan opens with the most essential truth: all glories to Radha Rani, all glories to Krishna, and all glories to Shri Dham Vrindavan — the eternal home of divine love. Then the singer bows to the three principal deities of Vrindavan: Govinda (the one who gives pleasure to the senses and cows), Gopinath (the Lord of the gopis), and Madan Mohan (the one who enchants even Cupid himself). Just chanting these names is like touching Vrindavan’s soul.

Verse 2

Shyama-kunda, Radha-kunda, Giri-Govardhan.
Kalindi, Yamuna, Jaya, Jaya Mahavan.

✨ Explanation:
Here the devotee glorifies the sacred geography of Vrindavan. Radha-kunda and Shyama-kunda are not just ponds; they are the very heart of Radha and Krishna’s loving pastimes. Govardhan Hill reminds us of Krishna’s sweet protection of the Vrajavasis. Kalindi (Yamuna) flows with divine nectar, carrying the memories of Krishna’s play. And Mahavan is one of the twelve forests where Krishna’s childhood lilas blossomed. Each name evokes a sacred darshan.

Verse 3

Keshi-ghata, Bansi-vata, Dvadash-kanan.
Jaha sab leela koilo Shri-Nanda-Nandani.

✨ Explanation:
This verse takes us to Keshi-ghat, where Krishna killed the Keshi demon and revealed His divine power. Then to Bansi-vat, the holy banyan tree under which Krishna played His flute and called the gopis for rasa-lila. And to the twelve forests of Vrindavan, each one decorated with Krishna’s childhood mischiefs and divine sports. Everywhere, it is Nanda-Nandana Krishna (son of Nanda Maharaj) who is performing unlimited lilas.

Verse 4

Sri-Nanda-Yashoda Jaya, Jaya Gopa-Gan.
Sridama-adi Jaya, Jaya Dhenu-Vatsa-Gan.

✨ Explanation:
The glories now move to Krishna’s beloved family and friends. Nanda Baba and Yashoda Maiya are the highest fortune-holders — they had Krishna as their son. The gopas (cowherd boys) like Sridama, Sudama, Subala are Krishna’s eternal playmates. Even the cows and calves are glorified, for Krishna spent His childhood herding them with boundless affection.

Verse 5

Jaya Vrishabhanu, Jaya Kirtida Sundari.
Jaya Purnamasi, Jaya Abhira Nagari.

✨ Explanation:
The song now bows to Vrishabhanu Maharaj and Kirtida Sundari, the parents of Srimati Radharani. Without them, Radha would not manifest in this world. Purnamasi Devi, the grandmotherly figure of Vrindavan, guides and protects the pastimes. And the Abhira town (the cowherd community) is glorified, for Krishna chose to appear among them.

Verse 6

Jaya Jaya Gopishwara Vrindavan-maajh.
Jaya Jaya Krishna-sakha Batu Dvija-Raj.

✨ Explanation:
This part of the kirtan bows to Gopīshwar Mahadev, Lord Shiva of Vrindavan, the gentle guardian of the sacred rasa-lila grounds. He’s the one who allows souls to step into the hidden, intimate pastimes of Radha and Krishna. It also honors Krishna’s childhood brahmin friends — like Madhumangal — those lighthearted boys who filled every moment with laughter, playful teasing, and deep devotion. Their jokes weren’t just fun; they were pure love offered to Krishna.
Verse 7

Jaya Rama-ghata, Jaya Rohini-Nandan.
Jaya Jaya Vrindavan-basi, Jata-Jan.

✨ Explanation:
Rama-ghat is remembered where Balaramji performed His pastimes. Rohini-Nandan refers to Lord Balarama, Krishna’s elder brother, who protects and supports all devotees. Then the entire residents of Vrindavan are glorified — because simply living in Vrindavan, with love for Krishna, makes one most fortunate.

Verse 8

Jaya Dvija-Patni, Jaya Naga-Kanya-Gan.
Bhaktite Jahara Paailo Govinda Charan.

✨ Explanation:
The simple-hearted wives of the Brahmins and the Naga-kanyas (serpent girls) are honored. Though they were not great scholars or yogis, their simple devotion won Krishna’s heart, and they attained His lotus feet. This verse reminds us that Krishna is conquered only by bhakti, not by status or knowledge.

Verse 9

Sri-Rasa-Mangal, Jaya, Jaya Radha-Shyam.
Jaya Jaya Rasa-Leela, Sarva-Manoram.

✨ Explanation:
Now comes the essence: the Rasa dance. The auspicious festival of Radha and Shyam’s rasa-lila is glorified as the most enchanting pastime of Vrindavan. Here, every soul’s innermost desire for divine love finds its highest expression.

Verse 10

Jaya Jaya Ujjwala-Rasa, Sarva-Rasa-Sar.
Parakiya-Bhave Jaha Brajate Prachar.

✨ Explanation:
The Ujjvala-rasa, the shining jewel of all rasas, is glorified. This refers to the mood of the gopis, their pure love for Krishna in parakiya-bhava (seeming separation and selfless devotion). It is the essence of Vrindavan, and through this, the highest truths of divine love are revealed.

Verse 11

Sri Jahnava-Pada-Padma Koriya Smaran.
Deen Krishna-Dasa Kohe Nama-Sankirtan.

✨ Explanation:
Finally, the song ends humbly: remembering the lotus feet of Sri Jahnava Mata (the consort of Lord Nityananda, revered as a spiritual mother), the devotee — Krishna Das — sings this nama-sankirtan. It shows us the spirit in which we too must sing: with humility, remembrance of great Vaishnavas, and surrender.

🌸How to Sing:-

Begin with “Jaya Radhe, Jaya Krishna, Jaya Vrindavan.” in a slow, respectful tone. Practically like calling their names with folded hands.

Sing with a Call & Response Style – In traditional style, one person guides a line (the kirtaniya) and others repeat. For instance:

1. Lead: “Jaya Radhe, Jaya Krishna, Jaya Vrindavan.”

2. Response: “Jaya Radhe, Jaya Krishna, Jaya Vrindavan.”

This makes it together, not a solo act.

*Simple Melody – You can sing it in the same melody as most “Jaya Radhe Jaya Krishna” kirtans in Vrindavan (very simple, two or three notes only). No need to complicate — about bhav (feeling), not technicality.

*Instrument Support – Harmonium (for melody), mridanga or dholak (for rhythm), and kartals (hand cymbals). If you don’t have instruments, even clapping with rhythm is fine.

*Gradual Build-up – While the verses progress from Radha-Krishna to holy sites (such as Radha-kund, Govardhan, Yamuna), you can gradually speed up and energize. By the end of the later verses (such as praising Rasa-lila), the entire group can be singing aloud, with great joy.

*End Sweetly – As you complete the final verse (“Sri Jahnava Pada Padma…”), decelerate again and sing softly. This keeps the atmosphere peaceful and devotional.

Conclusion:-
At the end of this kirtan, it really feels like we’ve taken a full parikrama of Vrindavan with our voices. From Radha-Krishna, to Govardhan, to Yamuna, to all the dearest friends and guardians of the Divine Couple—everyone gets their place of honor. It’s not singing names, it’s like reaching out to touch their feet one by one, bowing, and saying, “I remember you, I pay homage to you.” When we’re done, the heart is lighter, softer, and more connected. It’s more about submission—just allowing the holy names to wash over us and sweep us closer to that sweet Vrindavan sentiment.

So let’s hold onto this prayer in our hearts:
“Radhe, Krishna, Vrindavan — please make me yours.”

Hari Bol! 🙏🌸
